More and more brands are becoming cruelty-free, and honestly, it’s about time! When I was younger, I was pretty naive and thought that the notion of people testing on animals was a myth and just something out of a horror film. Needless to say, I was sadly mistaken. As I have grown older, I have learned the cruel ways of the world and now know something has to change- my lifestyle included.
It’s true when they say “every little helps”! Even though you don’t think your own actions – small as they are – can make much of an impact, they can! Thanks to more people choosing to stand against animal testing and adapting their lifestyle in a more animal-friendly way, industries are changing.
If you too want a clearer conscience when applying those ruby red lipsticks and creamy moisturizers – here are 6 incredible beauty lines that are totally cruelty-free. Better yet, the products have not deteriorated in quality, so your skincare routine won’t need to be sacrificed!
Believe me when I say I’m one of those people who will spend a ridiculous amount of time scraping every last bit of product out of a tube so I won’t waste any (don’t judge me). So what I love so much Eyeko is the fact that their Yoga Waterproof Mascara comes in a squeezy tube, so none of the product is wasted. What I love even more about Eyeko is that they are 100% cruelty-free and don’t believe in testing any of their products or ingredients on animals – including their raw ingredients!
Nip + Fab
One of the best skin care lines on the high-street (and my life), Nip + Fab are cruelty-free and vegan (bar 11 of their products, which are listed on their website). It’s fair to say my skincare regime wouldn’t be without their Glycolic Fix Extreme pads and Glycolic Fix Body Gel. Not only have these products completely transformed the surface of my skin, but my monthly breakouts have also ceased to exist (which is something of a miracle). So now knowing that they do not test their products on animals just makes me love them even more.
As a huge lover of Revolution Beauty’s Conceal & Define Concealer, I was relieved to find that they do not test their products or ingredients on animals and are cruelty-free. However, they are still working on making all of their products vegan, as some of their products still contain beeswax and carmine. Though to help you out, they have added a specific section on their websites to shop vegan only products, which is a huge help (and it’s 54 pages long)!
Renown for their amazing All Nighter Setting Spray; the spritz that won’t let you down (even when your friends do), I’m happy to say that Urban Decay is a cruelty-free brand that is committed to ending animal testing. I must admit, their All Nighter Setting Spray has saved me many times in my hour of need – especially after I’ve been throwing shapes on the dance floor and have to resurface into harsh lighting to wait for my greasy pizza after a night out. So knowing that Urban Decay is cruelty-free, I am definitely going to invest in more of their All Nighter products!
Despite just being bought by L’Oreal, IT Cosmetics are a cruelty-free brand and will continue to be as they are operating under the same leadership team as before. As someone who has just jumped onto the primer hype, one product of theirs I would not be without is their Bye Bye Pores Primer. This lightweight primer has been developed with plastic surgeons – so you know it’s going to be good. It works wonders in stopping my foundation sinking into my pores and now knowing that no animals have been harmed in it’s making, it’s a product that I would recommend to my friends.
So whether you’re just now undertaking your cruelty-free mission, or are looking for new brands to add to your makeup collection, these beauty lines are guaranteed to deliver a clearer conscious and beautiful makeover.
